Just had Dan at our home yesterday for a chimney inspection. We couldn’t have been happier with his service. Great quality and great rates. Incredible how much knowledge he has about chimneys and fireplaces. Will definitely use him again!

Our downstairs was flooded due to a combo of things, but the (rain) water was getting in through the chimney. Our carpet was saturated and several things were ruined. On top of worrying about having the carpet replaced, there was the focus of assuring this would not happen again. We called around for the best deal, but weren't even sure how much it would cost. When Dan came out, he gave us a quote much less than other people we talked to. He didn't try to force us to have our Chimney cleaned for 250.00 (this seems to be a thing) and on top of that he was able to see us in just a couple of weeks. Other companies had waiting lists for months. It was really important we were seen asap as it has been very rainy. He came over on a Friday morning and was done by 4pm. During this time he removed and replaced deteriorating bricks. He also sealed them. The chimney looks so much better & is functional now, which is great because winter is on the way! So far, so good. I am attaching before/after pics of his work.
They were very nice. He came early, asked if it was ok. Took of his shoes, had a mask on. Unfortunately he looked and it was damaged inside. But he told us he could see it without putting a camera up the chimney. So he was very gracious and did not charge us for checking it. He told us about options but was not trying to sell us anything or push a different service. I appreciate his honesty. I would recommend them and call them again if we fix it.
Exceptional and professional from start to finish! We called SmartSweep about our basement fireplace that hadn't been used since we bought the home. Jim and Sue did an excellent job explaining the inspection and sweeping process that would ensure safe use of the fireplace this fall and winter. Jim provided a very thorough inspection and even a couple of complimentary repairs on the fireplace and chimney. He was able to point out some areas on the exterior masonry that are in need of some repair and gave us a referral for a mason who could do the exterior work. He did an excellent job sweeping (this fireplace has never looked so good!) and Sue was kind enough to polish up our glass and surround. There was absolutely no mess left. The service was prompt and professional. The price was reasonable and exactly as quoted. These are two of the kindest people I have met in a while and it was truly a pleasure to have them in our home. It is clear that they love what they do! Thank you, SmartSweep!
We've had the Smarts clean our chimney for over a decade. I was so worried about him retiring but when he told me his son Dan was taking over I was over joyed. He is professional and friendly his work was fast well done with no mess left. I'm so happy!
