This place was great. Came and stayed with some close friends to enjoy some nature and get out of the city. We got the main cabin all to ourselves and had a great time. The common area is spacious and open, with plenty of room. The bedrooms are cozy, with plenty of beds to fit tons of people. Heating and air filter help keep the bedrooms warm. The bathroom area is also nice and clean, with a rainfall shower that feels great after a long day. Would highly recommend as a family or friends getaway destination, especially if you like outdoors sports and activities.

Rumney is a gorgeous place and staying at the Barn Door Hostel and Campground is THE way to experience it. Period. The entire is extremely clean, well equipped with everything you will need, and uses eco-friendly installations. Weather you book a camping site or choose to stay in the hostel you will have a marvelous experience. You can take in the sights of this beautiful place or bring your climbing gear. Head over to their website (very simple and to the point also!) to get more details. You can tell a lot of love was poured into making the Barn Door Hostel and Campground THE destination in town.

Such a rad spot. Campground has spectacular views, indoor accommodations are spotlessly clean and cozy (even during the pandemic). There’s ample parking here and you’re 2 miles from the climbing area, 1 mile from the Baker River (for canoe/kayak launching), 4 miles from a brewery, and you can literally summit a “52 With A View” (Stinson) Mountain from their back yard. I’ve been here in winter for back country and resort skiing as well as snowshoeing, winter hiking, and cross country skiing. In the summer time there’s a ton of swimming holes, hikes, biking trails etc. You won’t be bored!

We had a great experience camping at the Barn Door Hostel! Dave is fantastic and gave us great recommendations for climbing routes for the next day! The campsite at Barn Door Hostel has everything that you need and is stunning. A bonus is that we were able to make a great fire. Dave also gave us a sneak peek of the new hostel opening up in the next couple weeks, and I can't wait to come back here in the summer! It will most definitely be an excellent place to build a community and make friends with other climbers. Thanks Barn Door Hostel!!

I had an awesome stay at the Barn Door Hostel! I camped here back over the summer and it was great, so I came back for the winter experience staying in the hostel this time. It is warm and cozy and has a great homey feeling inside. Dave and the staff were excellent hosts and were really helpful the whole time. I will definitely be coming back again.

I had an amazing time at the Barn Door Hostel and Campground! Dave is a very friendly host and accommodates to any needs you might have. I was part of a group of 4 that stayed in a private room with plenty of privacy. The atmosphere of the hostel was great, very clean and beautiful open space. I can't wait to return!

Barn Door Hostel completely exceed our expectations - very clean and stylish! Dave, the owner, is great - very knowledgable on the hiking, skiing, cycling, and climbing in the area. Also, his dog, Goose, is the cutest!
