Yummy! We visit a lot of pho places here in the valley and this one was wonderful. My husband and I and our kids all enjoyed the items we ordered. Everything was fresh and delicious. The herbs and sprouts were fragrant and crisp. The environment was clean and pleasant and the decor was interesting and comfortable. The space is open and vaulted. We enjoyed a wonderful dinner here.
Had a great experience at this restaurant last night. The dinner menu is about 14, and for that price you get good service, classy ambiance, and a ton of yummy food (namely, rice AND 3 dumplings AND 3 shrimp rolls AND an entree AND another entree AND soup AND salad.) Well worth the price if you ask me! A rare WVC gem. I would be happy to return, and soon.
Like many others, we loved Green Papaya when they had a intimate/casual atmosphere. We were shocked to see they turned into a food court and the wait staff now dresses in tshirts and baseball caps. You order at a counter and get a number to put on your table. It is terribly impersonal now. The food still tastes the same but it seems like it's more expensive. 24 dollars for a P12 regular and a noodle bowl for lunch is way more than it used to be. And to pay that much to eat in the equivalent of a McDonald's? I don't think so. They made a huge mistake with this remodel. We will not be going back.
This place is excellent. I personally love their basil wings and their mango sticky rice. Almost everything on the menu I have ordered gets a double thumbs up. If you haven't been I strongly recommend it!
Today I went to the Green Papaya to eat lunch. There were a couple of young women eating. They had a young baby, maybe a year, and one of the workers of the restaurant came up to the mother and told her to keep her baby quiet because there were other people eating in the restaurant. I do not think the baby was being loud or disruptive at all. He was just being a baby. And I think it was very rude of the staff member to approach the patrons the way he did. I will never eat there again!!! After seeing the look on that poor mothers face, she had tears in her eyes, she didn't even finish her lunch and left with her young child. Completely rude and awful service. I am just appalled and saddened. Having young children myself, I know how hard it is to go out and keep them completely quiet and entertained. It is impossible.
The service is among the best I have ever encountered. The staff is pleasant, personable and attentive. The food is absolutely outstanding. I think I've had almost everything on the menu and I love it all. The Basil Fried Rice is amazing. Now fried rice is usually the last thing you eat, it's just a side dish that is never anything to get excited about. I'm telling you that you MUST try the Basil Fried Rice. You can't go wrong with anything on the menu, appetizers, pho or combination meals. I got very spoiled when I lived in Boston where the food is heavenly, and I've only found a few places here in Utah that I really love. Pho Green Papaya gets 10 out of 10 in my book. My husband and I stopped by for lunch one day. By the time we got there I had a migraine come on and was disappointed that I was too sick to eat by then. I told the waitress and asked for water, and told her just my husband would be ordering. She came out with tea and a bowl of broth, complimentary, and said she hoped I would feel better soon. THAT is the level of service I always receive. Great food, great service, great prices. They altered dishes for my friend who is vegan. Go! Eat!
Quick service, short waiting time for meals. Smoothies are delicious! Thai tea tastes so good it doesnt make it very long before you need another. Meal portions are just right. And the dishes are very flavorful. Definately a place to come back and eat at!
