I wandered into Sam’s today because there’s a chance of inclement weather on Monday and because our membership expires today. Every time I have ever come to the store, a good chunk of the produce has rotted and is covered in fruit flies and other bugs. I brought some of it up to the register and politely asked the cashier if she could call somebody up because it’s been an ongoing issue since I moved to Kansas City and the manager who came to the register just kind of shrugged it off and left the product. It wasn’t a good experience that left my family wanting to renew. I hope the Costco across the interstate will be a better experience.

I purchased an outdoor patio set online to be picked up by 5:00 pm Thursday. I called the store and told them I would not be able to make it and the person said they put a note on it and would hold it until Friday. As I got there to pick it up, they stated my order had been cancelled, and I would be receiving a refund within 72 hours. I asked if the order could be reinstated because I drove 1 hr and 30 minutes, and the manager said, “No, once it’s cancelled we can’t do anything about it.” I asked if there were any more in stock, and the answer was also no. However, when I pulled up my Sam’s Club app, it clearly stated they had them in stock. Their response was to offer me a 25 gift card, so I could “buy something.” I didn’t accept the gift card, as I was only coming to either A) pick up the 1600 patio set, or B) get my refund. I left with neither, and all they kept telling me was that my refund would show up in 72 hours. Very disappointed in this store, and with Sam’s Club in general.
This store is nice, clean, and has friendly staff. BUT... Sadly I purchased my membership (and renew it yearly) for household goods such as paper goods & laundry supplies, for the most part. I'm finding myself only using it for grocery, laundry supplies, and very few paper/plastic goods. Why? Because the only paper towels and toilet paper ever available anymore is POM and I can get better at the dollar tree. With a large family, we rely on bulk shopping, but it just hasn't been worth it lately.
Look different from the Sams in Texas but had everything I needed and more.
I prefer this location over the Overland Park location. The layout of the store just seems better. The staff seems friendlier.
