I highly recommend John for all of your \wind junkie\ activities. He's an expert in all of it, good thorough training sessions, quality equipment (even has radio enabled helmets so he can give instruction from the beach) and good communications. I did the efoil session which was a blast.

John is awesome! We had an excellent time learning to kiteboard out on the bay in such a unique way on his boat with radio helmets to aid with instructions. We started with learning how to pilot off the kite off the back of the boat and then how to make strokes with the kite to generate power. Then we each hopped in the water to get comfortable with the kite and do some body drags. Then we got to try with the actual board. Difficult in the water, but super rewarding sport. I would recommend John to anyone seeking lessons!

Had a 3 hour window on a business trip in San Francisco and KiteTheBay was a perfect fit. I showed up with Jeans and snickers and was in the water kiting in no time. By far the most time effective kiting experience I’ve had. John showed me some new tricks and the peace of mind of having the boat around at all times is awesome and gives you the confidence to focus on improving your skills without worrying about getting back, where to go etc.

I learned from Jon at the end of last season in the Bay and then a week in La Ventana last January. If you are looking to get stoked out, learn to kite in the most effective format possible, and ultimately become a kiter, there is literally no other way to do this. Rigging and land safety lessons are critical, but if you never turn the corner and get super fired up about the sport, they are largely irrelevant. Get out, get riding, get pumped up, and then circle back to working on land independence. This is the correct order of operations. Boat support, radio helmets, supportive and very helpful instruction, and commitment to water safety are what to expect, and I'd expect you will be riding at the end of day 1 or early in day 2. I had tried on 2 other occasions to learn to kite, and it never took. Thanks to Jon's approach I can kite independently now, at nearly any site, and have logged 50 sessions this season and my life is forever improved. Great guy too.
