Be careful about over paying prior to surgery. I had my surgery in October 2020 and even though I knew the amount they wanted up front was more than I would need to pay because of my out of pocket max....they still made me pay that amount. I've been requesting a 1500 refund since December 10th and still no check. I just get the run around when I call. Now they say its mailed. Its been over a week and no check. It's just mailing across town. The surgery center and all the people were great. The billing and refund department no so swift.

Had knee surgery at First Hill this week and it was the best medical experience I’ve ever had. The doctors, nurses and staff (from reception to assistants) were all incredibly kind, skilled and professional. Every person I interacted with was positive and seemed genuinely happy to be there. Rare, indeed! I did pay the amount they determined I would owe up front. Hope that I won’t have insurance hassles later, of course, like others have. But at this writing, I’d go there again for a procedure in a heartbeat.

Pay extra attention on the bill. In my case, I paid on the surgery date and it was more than the amount I had to pay according to the Explanation of bill from my insurance. Instead of give me the refund after processing with insurance, they send me another bill that I have to pay 1,500 extra. Many phone calls, emails, and the insurance company talks involve, they keep promise to contact me in 5days each after phone calls, but they never call me. You have to get mad and keep calling them. 3 months I still not get my refund back.

DO NOT PAY CHARGES AT RECEPTION PRIOR TO SURGERY. Even if your deductible is met, they will not refund your balance. If they do refund it will take almost a year, 1o phone calls, 4 with your insurance company conferenced in to back you up and they will still not return the full amount. Medically speaking this place runs like a swiss watch. Back of house business side of things is held together by duct tape and chewing gum.
