First time and won’t be the last!! Staff was welcoming and friendly. Food was unique with exceptional flavor. Cocktail was delicious. Happy with what we spent for a delicious meal for 2. Recommend: fried chicken was great, not necessary every visit but definitely the first. The halibut was super good, 100% order again. The chick peas were bomb!!! So many different flavors. And the turmeric cocktail 10/10.

Cool ambience, friendly staff and good food! Mix of Indian and Srilankan cuisine. This place is amongst one of my top 2 Indian places in Seattle. Their pillowy naan, dal, Kerala fried chicken are a must try. They have 4 varieties of Sambal sauce which are worth trying as well. Other dishes keep rotating.
The carrot sambol with chickpea was delicious!
We had everything on the menu for my son's birthday and this was a feast. Every dish is perfect and the cocktails are delicious. All of this would mean nothing if it wasn't matched by the friendliest staff. Treat yourself, give them a try, you'll be back.

RUPEES BAR AND FOOD : TAKE OUT OR EAT IN! I don't give 5 stars easily. The venue has to be both unique and the feeling that I want to go back next weekend if not sooner! Not in downtown Ballard so when we discovered Rupees, we immediately wanted to share it with our family and friends. Rupees is a brilliant choice for a Friday/Saturday date night. Can also make reservations for 2-4 guests optimum but 6 might be "ok" as well. Ask with reservations. Cozy.. appropriate music and decor. Welcoming staff and manager that truly enjoy running a bar and restaurant! Small plates, flavorful, unique. Cannot wait to go back!
The food here was unbelievable! I ordered everything on the menu and a few cocktails for takeaway and it was fantastic.
