I had an unpleasant experience with Peninsula Nursery. I purchased three trees and used their planting service which in total was about 2000. Upon delivery one of the trees had a very loose root ball, of which the employee commented that wasn't good. He suggested I still plant the tree and hope the tree takes root. He fastened it to some stakes to hold it in the ground too. I've watered the trees as they stated (every other day for 30-60 minutes) but this one tree is still very loose in the ground with wiggle room of maybe 6 inches of play when I hold the trunk. I was told prior to purchasing the trees (6/7), on the day of planting (6/22), and again on 6/29 that the trees have a guarantee that if there's a problem I'll get another tree or a refund. On 6/29 I emailed Kirk the assistant pictures of the tree, and went to the nursery to discuss it with him. He did say I could choose another tree or get a refund. I looked through their selection but they did not have any more of the same type of tree. I returned to their office to see about the refund. Kirk was gone, but George the owner was in; and so I summarized the problem to him. George said I had a live tree in the ground so he didn't see the problem. When I emphasized my concern for the looseness in light of his business closing doors in July; he all of sudden became defensive and said that if I didn't change my tone he would ask me to leave. Sorry? Where did that come from? I realized there was little use in continuing the conversation and so I left. Anyways, I still have an expensive and loose tree in the ground. Not sure what to do. Maybe stamp on it and hope for the best. The nursery does have good reviews, so maybe it was a bad day. Regardless, I'm not happy with the prospect of losing the tree and being out of the money too (550); especially when I was told there was a guarantee.

Although we say the nursery is 5 Stars, the 2017Lavender Festival Tour which brought us here displays an inaccurate legend. 2017 Lavender Tour: NO Wine, NO Music, NO Food, NO Kids Activities, NO Vendors, NO Picnic Area.. They only have 2 out 8 features as marked on tour map. See our pic. Lovely place with great staff. Tina is an absolute charm!

Stopped by looking for house plants. They didnt have any but they told me there would at some point. Then they let me know where else to look. Very friendly and I took the time to look around. Some really amazing trees are available there. I will go by again when I have more time and it is not raining! Very well kept place, very clean and easy to find. A definite place to stop!
