Lovely place to paint and socialize. Everyone comes away painting a masterpiece. The vibes are great, I’ve made great friends, I have a great teacher, and I look forward to class every week. I’m really glad I took a leap and signed up!

I can't say enough good things about the KMW School of Painting. I've been a student for almost four years now. Everyone who walks through the door, even first time painters, creates something beautiful. All of the supplies and paint come with the class so you just need to bring yourself. You can paint whatever your heart desires and you will get just as much help as you need. The teacher, Katherine, is one of my favorite people in the whole wide world. She's funny, talented, and genuinely cares about her students. The best part is, Katherine and her painting school seem to be a magnet for other fun, nice, and interesting people from all walks of life. So, while you are painting you get to hang out with all kinds of cool people. Your classmates will all know your name (one of a few mandatory parts of being a student) and tell you how great your painting is. There is never a dull moment at the School of Painting and that's how we like it.

The Martin Widmer School of Painting welcomed me with open arms. This was very valuable to me given that I have no family or connections in the Boston area. Katherine truly cares about her students of all ages and promotes peace and unity across across all cultures. It is a slice of joy in my life every week. I am a better person because of this school. My friends are so intrigued that they have accompanied me to see our school at the end of term. I sincerely appreciate her honesty and her vision for how people should treat one another. I have noticed that she encourages her students to use manners, speak kindly to one another, and help each other out. I have observed some of these qualities to be difficult for some people. In reading one of the unfavorable posts about her school I would imagine that person should have talked directly to Katherine about her concerns and then worked to be an open and cooperative human moving forward. The cost of the school is also very affordable. In fact, I can't even believe how lucky I am to find this place and these people. I often times think to myself that Katherine could be the star of the next best selling novel or that someone should write a screenplay about her life. The woman has done it all and I am a better painter and person for knowing her. Perhaps this is why the same folks have continued to come to her classes for 20 years.

Katherine - you really don’t know how much I loved and cherished my time with you in Somerville! My beach and lemons paintings from 5 years ago are still in my apartment in NYC and you were such a part of my self discovery!!! “The year (or two) of Dana” For anyone considering this painting school, investing in a hobby or passion, or just focusing on themselves, just do it! Wonderful people and vibe, relaxing inclusive environment and Katherine is so wonderful. Still think of you all often!
