I have been too many hospitals from Cedar Sinai to Barnes Jewish and without a doubt St.Louis University is the worst. It’s not the medical staff, which is superb, it the food, the cleanness and the administration. The food is barely edible. The hospital is dirty. I feel for the staff. It puts itself on the frontline of the Covid battle and the administration doesn’t care. Do not go to this hospital. You will not be be fed.

This place truly saved my life. In July 2019, Mercy in Springfield found a giant brain aneurysm in my head and said it was too big for them to do anything about it. I was transferred to SLU where I met Saleem Abdulrauf. He is the president for nuero there and he and his team of nuerosurgeons planned a brain bypass surgery. It was an awake bypass surgery. They surgery took 12 hours and was a success. I was 27 when they found it and I was scared to death. They made me feel comfortable and confidant. Needless to say, I am thankful for this hospital and the members of the nuero team. Thank you.

I had a reaction to my first covid vaccine. This is also the first time coming to SLU hospital, and it will definitely be my last. When I got to the hospital, one of the front desk employees was on her phone most of the time of me being there, and she went outside to argue with her boyfriend over the phone. Second, the front desk employee that was constantly on her phone eventually took me back to a room, which was dirty. She then took me bag to the lobby to wait until the room was cleaned and got back on her phone. After about 15 minutes she took back to the room and there was no bed in the room. She cursed out loud and ended up putting a bed in the room for me. Third, I had 2 different doctors come in my room and tell me 2 different treatment plans. I ended up getting a chest x-ray, before they asked if I was pregnant. After I had the x-ray done, right before I was leaving, they had me do a pregnancy test to make sure I wasn’t pregnant. I’m glad I wasn’t pregnant and they did an x-ray, possibly harming the baby. Fourth, the nurses uniforms look really sloppy and too big on them. The nurses don’t even say hi or bye. They act as if you are a bother to them. One of the nurses that was assisting in my room constantly left my patient chart open to the public, and never closed out of it when he’d walk out of the room. Fifth, when I went to go to the bathroom, there was dried up blood all over the floor. I understand that it’s a hospital, but the hospitality, cleanliness, and professionalism is horrible!!

Erika at patient services was the most personable, professional, and helpful person I have seen in a hospital setting. I am scheduled for a surgery coming up to remove cancer and my anxiety has been through the roof since finding out. Erika truly helped my anxiety while getting me registered for all the testing that was scheduled on February 8th at the Tower Grove Family Lounge location. Erika went above and beyond her responsibilities to help me. I wish all hospitals had nothing but Erika's as employees.

I had major ankle surgery done on 09/22/20 I stayed two days after surgery in the Short stay Unit. My nurses Haley and William were amazing. I’ve never stayed at a hospital with such hospitality, they both went above and beyond to make sure I was comfortable and they met all my needs. Along with the other staff too. Always a friendly face. The doctors kept me well informed also.
