Today my daughter had a very bad experience when her car was towed last night. My daughter is going on her 3rd year of renting this apartment. Because of Covid, her school work is online so she has been studying from home. Today she had an in person class which she needed to attend. So she went to her apartment which she has been paying for. The management changed the parking rules; now you are required to get a new/ different sticker. The management put a notice on her door in August about needing a new sticker. I feel this method of communication is irresponsible .Management can not guarantee this communication will be received by all roommates. The manager did have her email address, as she received an email when there was a change in ownership back in May. My daughter called the manger and got nowhere. My daughter and I called them together and we went round and round getting nowhere. I was told it was her responsibility to tell the management she is not living there. It is none of their business where she is living. She is a paying costumer and should be treated as one. I was also told her roommates should have informed her. This is not her roommates responsibility.They do not own the complex.She had to spend 170.00 to retrieve her car and try to get a ride to class and explain why she did not have the supplies needed for class today, because they where in her car. Bottom line - Stadium View Apartments needs better communication

I was subleased an apartment and management refused to give me my money back after I overpaid for rent , they used it to pay for the other person's rent who leased the apartment (they owed money). On top of that I misplaced my key and they charged 40 to open the door, but what offended me was maintenance giving me a hard time about proving I lived there and then said he would find me if it wasn't my apartment. The window in my room was unsafe only a stick in there to keep it shut. The draft is horrible , my room was freezing. Everything is outdated the bathroom faucet broke one day and almost flooded our apartment.
If any of my friend was joining NIU I would recommend them to live at stadium view 1 apt 12. Experiences may vary from apartments from what I have seen from friends living upstairs and other side of building. There were certain complaints from my friends living in other parts of stadium view but I had none. Plus I would give 4/5 for security for stadium view 2 since it doesn't have central locking system as stadium view 1 . My living experience was the best. Residing in apartment no 12, it had a beautiful patio, good view in all 4 rooms. Living room so big you could run. I felt our apartment was most safest, maybe it was the arrangement of the houses. Most importantly it was not facing parking lot where car lights would flash through windows at weird times. Instead we had a beautiful view outside in the patio, with a lot of birds welcoming us whenever we go out. I have changed two houses, from major renting agencies in dekalb but none had provided such swift responses to complaints than Ryan did. Our mails were responded immediately, and phone calls addressed patiently. To list the top pros of this place huge rooms, living room, perfeclty spaced, walls did not let sound through, privacy, security(there were times where I walked late in night without any worries), beautiful view, great patio, huge kitchen, good bathrooms, best neighbourhood, close to recreational center and all major campuses on niu. Located in the same strip of most fast food centers, restaurants, pubs.
The lady in the office was extremely unwelcoming to me when I visited the property to inquire about their apartment availability. She wasn’t friendly or informational AT ALL. Highly recommend a training course in customer service!!!!
