We were on a small 4 day vacation and passing through the area. I went on to my Yelp app and found a bakery very close from our hotel. My daughter wanted to try the lavender donut and her boyfriend went with the maple bacon glazed donut and they both ordered a latte. I went with a powder sugar topped lemon donut and soda and Tony went with a chocolate glazed donut and strawberry jelly filled powder covered delight with white milk. We were very pleased with the staff, they were very patient while we looked over the mouth watering choices in the showcase. I couldn't work here, I would weigh a million pounds in no time flat!! The store was lovely and quiet!! Quiet is always nice!!! We finished our delicious pastries and my daughter and her boyfriend opted to get a half dozen mixed to go, which I never saw once it was in the backseat on the remaining part of our roadtrip...lol !!!!!

Ordering system for COVID is extremely flawed. Forced to redial one number while sitting in the parking lot that continues to be busy for about 10 minutes until finally getting through. No queue or priority. No holding. Will change review if revamped, I love the doughnuts, but frustrating customer experience.
Got a mix of donuts from here and they were all fantastic. We were surprised and delighted by the fact that the base of the donuts weren't sickeningly sweet, and really relied on the toppings to complement the flavor. The frosted donuts also aren't overly saturated with thick frosting, there's a nice methodical layer that strikes a good balance. I got the samoa donut and loved it.
Nice staff & fantastic vegan donuts! Coming from NYC it's hard to be impressed by vegan baked goods but these were excellent. Pictured are 5 vegan donuts and 1 maple-bacon that my wife loved.
Great donuts. Every time I drive through Richmond I stop by and grab a dozen or half dozen. And the Luther burger is good too. Wasn't impressed with the crab cake though. The waffle fries are tasty too. Love Sugar Shack!
