Visited here for the first time on a Sunday afternoon and met the owners Larry & Valerie Keenan who were very friendly and knowledgeable. It's located just north of the Murray County Expo Center so easy to find off Hwy. 7 just outside Sulphur. There were many varieties of blackberries, some thornless and some not. They even had a port-a-potty which was a nice surprise. We spent about 45 minutes and picked 6 lbs. of blackberries. They are 4.50/lb and accept cash only. It's not a very big place so with a number of people there, most of it was picked over after awhile. They did have lots of red ones coming on so I would think it would be best to go on a Friday since they are only open on weekends. They are open from Memorial Day to 4th of July. Be sure and put bug spray on because chiggers can be bad, but the whole place is mowed so you won't be standing in high grass or anything. They do have furrows dug into both sides of the plants so you need to watch your footing. It will be nice to see this place grow as they have only been open for a few years.
