They have the best people working there honestly, like they’re so sweet. I tried so many new foods and it was all very intriguing but good! The pancakes were really different, but that was probably my favorite part of the experience because I’ve never had anything like it.

Despite being a long-time local favorite, I'd never had a chance to get to Teppanyaki Kyoto before. With COVID restricting us to take out, I didn't order the okonomiyaki as I might otherwise have done... In my experience, the dish doesn't travel well. Best eaten immediately after cooking. Perhaps one day. Instead we went with my go-to Tonkatsu. We also had an order of the kakiage vegetable tempura as well as a side dish of the shogoyaki. The first thing to surprise me was the reasonable prices. Nothing jumped out as outrageous - certainly within a few dollars of what the items would cost in Japan. If you're not sure what you'd want, you can do worse than a 10 bento. As for the food itself, it was all very tasty. The Tonkatsu was a good thickness. Instead of having the standard Tonkatsu sauce, there was a special miso dressing on top of it. I was pleasantly surprised at how well it worked. Honestly, considering my borderline Tonkatsu sauce addiction, no small feat! The tempura might have been the star of the show, though. I loved how deeply cooked it was. Rather than the pale tempura batter most places have, the food was allowed time to develop a lovely brown coating. Very similar to an onion ring in taste and texture, but with a lot more going on. Finally the shogoyaki, ginger stewed pork... Absolutely delicious. A wonderful, comforting dish. The pork was perfectly seasoned, and none of the flavors overwhelmed each other.

I love this restaurant. It's a simple dish, but one of my favorite things on the menu is the plain onigiri. They make me feel like I am back in Japan. They also have nice sake choices. If you are a vegetarian, they will accommodate your request to remove bonito flakes from the dishes. Very friendly staff.

This is my favorite restaurant in Pittsburgh. Wow! So delicious! The shrimp Okonomiyaki is delicious. The chicken katsu is flaky and the curry is fantastic. Really everything that we've had is delicious. I recommend trying everything.

Carefully prepared traditional Japanese favorites. Very impressed to see they have Hiroshimayaki, never thought I would see that dish outside of Japan or a major city. Looking forward to returning soon.

Extremely yummy traditional Japanese food! (No sushi though) The small street food dishes are the best but everything here has been delicious.

I had a wonderful experience! The atmosphere and service were great and the food was phenomenal. I actually spent three weeks in Japan traveling to Tokyo, Osaka, Kyoto, and Kagoshima this past spring, and the food at this restaurant is exactly like the food I had overseas. It was like being in the country again! Very authentic and full of taste. I will be back! Also, the Bacon Mochi here is AMAZING.
