Kevin Williams the owner and technician that performs the work at The Guitar Spa of Mobile, is top notch. He listens, and honestly he surprised the heck out of me by understanding my description of what I need, and turning that into a spec, then implementing those specifications correctly... the first time. Guitars are very nuanced devices. What you need, may not be what you describe, especially if you are not guitar hardware expert yourself. I am one of those people that I know what I need, but I don't think I explain it well. Kevin was able to decipher exactly the action and string set up I want/need. I honestly thought I would get home, spend time playing my Taylor 6 string acoustic, and would need to adjust something because I don't communicate my needs correctly. Keven knew exactly what I was trying to achieve and I couldn't be happier. The low 4 are tight and stiff as H E double hockey sticks, and my high B and E are just a bit slinky. I've owned that guitar for nearly a year now, and it's never sounded as bright and clean as it does now. Whether you are a discerning, experienced player or just starting out, I urge you to take your guitar(s) to Kevin for a proper assessment and set up. Experience and talent cannot overcome action that is set in a manner that runs contrary to your style and ability, and bad intonation will make even the best player sound off or out of tune in different areas of the neck. There is simply no way around the fact that proper set up and maintenance of guitar is key to beautiful guitar playing. I also had a problem with the cable jack and he repaired that as well. His pricing is fair, his work top notch and his experience and talent for the craft are better than anyone I've ever worked with to achieve the sound I'm looking for. No doubt that as long as he is working, no one else will be working on my guitars.

Kevin at The Guitar Spa is one of the most qualified and skilled repair techs I’ve ever met. I’ve had a few things come by Kevin so far and they’ve all become exceptional once he finished his work. Before I sold a strat, he performed a setup on it and it played better than it ever had prior, and I ALMOST didn’t sell it because of that fact. My G&L had a few issues from the manufacturer (mis-slotted nut and faulty selector switch), and Kevin went above and beyond with his work on it. He polished those frets super shiny, and they are like BUTTER! Now this guitar plays like I’ve always dreamed a G&L should!!! I am thankful he does such quality work, and he’s one of the nicest guys you’ll meet. There’s none of that halfway attentive and disgruntled customer service here. Kevin will make sure your instrument is RIGHT to your specs. You won’t find a better place than The Guitar Spa to care for your instruments in the Mobile area, and you won’t regret supporting him with your hard-earned cash! Can’t recommend highly enough!!!!!
Kevin does a great job. Found him online. Stopped in and he had my guitar repaired while I sat there and talked with him. Even gave me some pointers on repair and upkeep. He really is passionate about what he does. 5 stars for sure.

I can't say enough good things about Kevin. I'm a new player and Kevin took an out of the box strat and made it look and sound like a 5,000 custom. Even the competitors in town recommend him. I'm a customer for life.
