I spoke with Alex and Bob the owner. Even after many years in the piano business, Bob still has incredible passion for the quality of the Kawai pianos. The passion is fueled by detailed knowledge of the manufacture of the instruments. The nicer pianos are stunning in looks and sound.

First rate place. No hard sales and they really try to listen to your needs and they educate you a great deal. If you are open to looking at pianos made by companies whose names do not start with the letter 'S', then this is a great place to get to know different aspects of pianos and what they mean. If all you want is a piano made by a specific New York company and nothing else, this may not be the perfect store for you. Oh by the way, if you still think that a piano brand starting with the letter 'S' is the best, you really should give others a try. Some like 'B's, and others like 'SKs'.

We booked a piano tuning after verifying that our piano was to be tuned by ear to A4 not by solely by an obsolete electronic tuning device, which has been out of date for at least a decade. We had specifically asked the Manager Purdon before booking the appointment and he assured us that off course they could tune by ear if that is what we wanted, this is not what we got. And when we were not satisfied with the result and called to politely discuss the matter on the phone with him his tone changed completely he was extremely unprofessional and rude to the point which I would never buy anything from their shop ever again. And some point I hope to purchase a concert grand, well over 50k in lost sales. Terrible shop and non existent customer service

Sean Brady was so helpful and really knew a lot about the mechanics of the pianos. Not at all pushy. )
