THRIFT STORE??? Look on eBay... prices here are not reflective of a true thrift store. Not sure who prices things and where they get their information. Worthy cause, but when you can buy the same thing on eBay for LESS, then it is no longer a “thrift store.” Today, I went in and there were vintage 7up/other beverage wooden crates. 55.00 each?????? On eBay they were selling in the range of 30-50. An eBay store is someone’s business. The Sparrows Nest is a THRIFT STORE. Yes... also a business... but it is not branded as an upscale store/vintage/antique store. Therefore, one expects thrift store prices. Sterling silver bracelet 65.00????? Silver per Troy ounce trades for about 25.00. Excessive? Yes. Rebrand the store or lower prices. People may not want to part with their money when they can buy it for LESS somewhere else... The Sparrow’s Nest might actually LOSE money because of high prices and that won’t benefit their recipients at all.

This is one of the better thrift stores in the area, and I think the biggest reason that it is so great, is the manager. She seems to be doing everything right. I have seen her interact with her employees and the way she treats them is beautiful. As a customer, I have had interactions with her on three occasions, and found her to be kind and fair. She has a positive, cheerful attitude, and seems to genuinely care about her customers. She has a keen business sense. She seems to run things in a a manner that is well balanced and benefits the business, the staff, and the customers. Everything is clean and many of the items are reasonably priced. They have occasional sales which are nice. They also have a rewards program.
