This spot has about 6 spaces of parking right at the walkway plus about 10 spaces right across the street at the water tower. It has a rinse off shower. It is around a 5 minute walk to the next access point that has a restroom. The area when we were there (July-August) had little to a moderate amount of people. Never had anyone set up closer than 20 feet away. Everyday we were there you could stand up easily 20 feet off shore in shallow water during lower tide times.

Great, laid back beach with mostly easy parking and dog friendly. But later in the afternoon a ton of biting flies came out. Not sure if this is normal but it was a major bummer the one time I went
This is by far one of my favorite beaches in North Carolina.if you're thinking of vacationing in North Carolina, I certainly recommend this beach.one of the things to keep in mind, however, is the traffic. Because it is a small beach town, the traffic is very heavy. Pack some patience, and you will enjoy your visit. Worst part of the traffic is getting on and off the island.
Free parking, lovely people, sandy beaches and dogs are welcome. What's not to love?
