Great place. Little hard to get to since it is on the military base. If you are visiting be sure to take at least on hour to get through security. Museum has some awesome volunteers that can tell you a lot about the history of the planes.

We just spent time outside. I wasnt even aware it existed. The displays outside are awesome gives you a chance to stand next to history.

Great limited access heritage museum on the AFB. Picnic tables under the wings, great idea.

Nice small collection. Both indoor and outdoor pieces. Some interactive areas for kids of all ages, ie, cockpits. A small gift shop. Friendly staff. The website needs updating, though. It states that you go through gate upon showing ID and vehicle registration to security. I had to go to Visitors Center, have USAF security inspect ID and get a temp pass. Then a vehicle was sent to pick me up and deliver me to Heritage Museum. Then, upon visit completion, returned me to Visitors Center. Not an issue, but was not aware of change until instructed at another gate.

This museum of flight is a jewel waiting to be discovered on Travis AFB. It features Air Force airplanes both inside and outside. Some large aircraft may be entered when docents are available, call ahead for info. There is a gift shop full of military souvenirs, hats, books, coffee mugs etc. There is a full scale C5A cockpit that you can sit in, also a T-37 trainer you can get in. So much to see you could spend hours here. Non military visitors must get a base visitors pass at the main gate visitors center.

A memorial worth visiting specially if you are from the Asisa Pacific.

This is a great place for anyone interested in the armed forces or airplanes. So many different types of plane that were either used for combat or the transport of goods, soldiers and the injured. Each one on display has an information board telling all you need to know about its service, how many were commissioned to how many crew and or passengers it carried, also speeds to thrusts. There are so many to see, and they also have an indoor exhibit too with much more on offer including test models that pilots use to train in. The people running it all so very helpful that can answer any questions you may have. Spent a good 2 hours looking around. It's free to enter but any donations welcome as they rely on these for the upkeep of the museum.

A great place to stroll through Airlift history from its World War II infancy to its global reach of today.
