When Murray Metal Plating closed its doors in 1977, the polishing department was purchased by its employees and United Metal Finishers was born. Today, United Metal Finishers remains as one of the oldest, stand alone, metal finishing shops in Milwaukee. MEET DOUG KING After a decade of succesfully managing the day-to-day operations of another Milwaukee polishing company, Doug King was recruited to UMF as the Director of Sales & Marketing and tasked with the acquisition of new business that would drive the future success of the company. Doug purchased UMF in 2006. Drawing on his leadership skills developed while coaching college football and honed by his military service, Doug stays focused on the highest standards of customer service, strict financial discipline, process efficiency and creative problem solving while maintaining a strong crew of skilled and committed employees.
