My daughter has been going here for some time now. She loves her instructor Brandon, but I'm not sure if I want to keep continuing with Universal Kempo. I will keep my daughter in her classes for a few more weeks and see if there are any improvements. I have a few negative opinions and a few positive. Cons: -Kids do not have to wear masks. Also, instructors and some parents wear their masks under their nose which is absolutely useless. -Most nights they have the parents work with the students which does not make sense. The whole point of paying for classes is for the instructors to teach the children. -Most nights the instructor will tell stories. I know this seems nice, but it can take up most of the class and the stories are not even karate related. -MsJohnson the owner does not seem to interact with the kids. Even though she is on their website as an instructor but does not instruct or interact with anyone. - Lastly, sometimes the class feels rushed. They will do an activity for about 2 minutes and then carry on with something else. Pros: -The assistants seem great and help alot, they are also very friendly. -Great prices -They are drama free, parents and kids are very friendly. -Brandon (the instructor) is friendly and respectful with the kids and parents.

Best in Colorado Springs. I was originally located in a different system, it was good. Just not as focused or family oriented. My son trains along side myself and our relationship since being with Universal Kempo has Skyrocketed. Both Professor Johnson's do a world class job at managing the School. Attendance struggled there for a minute but they were quick to fix it. Prices are reasonable. The material is kept on a flowing cycle, and the classes are full of passion and excitement. Their Son Brandon is one of a kind with the students. Ages ranging from 4-64 Brandon makes a personal relationship with every student and instructor. All the other instructors are well skilled and bring something new and different to every class. Universal Kempo Karate has been a life Changing Decision for my son and I. 5 for 5 stars!

My two boys have been attending Universal Kempo Karate at Briargate for about 6 months now and the Johnson Family has welcomed us with open arms. The lead instructor for the little ones, Brandon Johnson, has a gift teaching children, not just Martial Arts, but also life skills such as discipline, confidence, and respect. Every visit we are met with a handshake from both Mr. and Mrs. Johnson and then Brandon has all of the kids shake the hands of every parent and visitor in the school. It is a school built on respect and I am very proud that my boys are being taught by outstanding individuals. I highly recommend this school to all ages, it truly has been a blessed experience for my family and I can't wait to see what the future holds for my children! Thank You Johnson Family!

I have been in Universal Kempo Karate for seven years now, and my experience has always been wonderful. It has taught me to be confident in myself and my abilities, which has helped me a lot in and out of karate classes. It doesn't only teach you self defense, it teaches you life skills. Universal Kempo also has great instructors that do everything they can to make sure you know how to defend yourself. I am very appreciative of the time that my instructors have spent making me the martial artist that I am today.

Our family has been going for almost 3 years now. We love the family atmosphere and the fact that we can choose which days and how many days to go each week. The instructors are very informative and teach well. I am able to move better each month. I don't know if I will ever be a black belt, but at 50, just \mopping the floors\ is pretty impressive. I can't vouch for the electronic payment system as we pay for the year up front.
