I have used Charter Sports for the last 10 years and have not had a problem. This time was different. I ordered my skis ahead of time and they did not have them when they got there. Because of this I had to ski a ski on my first day that was more advanced than I wanted. Also I was given a set of mismatched poles one of which was broken. I expected a lot more of them because I was paying the demo price. The next day I want to pick up my new skis. I took my boots down and browsed around while they were adjusting the boots to the skis. A short time later they advised I was good to go. After riding all the way up to the top of the mountain on the Gondola I put my gear on and realized that only one ski was adjusted to my boot. After waiting 20 minutes to get on the lift and finally getting up the mountain to ski I found myself putting my family on hold and riding the gondola back down to get my ski adjusted to my boot. When I took the equipment back after we were done skiing on our trip I explain to them my issues. The young kid at the counter advised \my bad\. I would hope that the Lions Square Lodge looks into this as they are on their property. I really feel like this location needs revamped.
My husband and I just finished 5 todays skiing at Vail. The young people at the Charter Sports rental in the lower level of the Lion Square Lodge run the most friendly and helpful ski.rental shop we have ever experienced. As an added perk they will let you practice your Spanish with them. Muchas gracias.
Friendly staff, durable equipment. Only issue is location: customers who are not guests at the Lion Square Lodge must navigate a narrow staircase while carrying rented equipment to/from the slopes.
