I had a spinal cord stimulator implant 4 months ago by Dr Taghva at Laguna Niquel Surgery Center and ended up in the hospital with an infection within 2 days of surgery then later to find out he wired it backwards. Yesterday I had to have yet ANOTHER surgery at Mission Hospital Laguna Beach for revision of the stimulator by Dr Liauw needless to say I ended up in the emergency room due to pain. The Dr Liauw never responded to my phone calls or the pharmacy phone calls. I’m in more pain then ever. The rep turned on the stimulator in the recovery room and still it is not even close to the area where needed. I DO NOT RECOMMEND a spinal cord stimulator unless you have very good doctors what are willing to treat you in the hospital until fully recovered and still at that point questionable. Think again before having this done. Look at the failure rate, it’s very high and I didn’t find that out until after the first surgery now that I’ve had 2 surgeries and its not working yet. Will it leave me paralyzed if I have the device removed I don’t know.
