Vallejo's Blue Rock Springs East & West Golf Courses may be the two best municipal golf courses in Northern California. Each course has a unique layout and style providing a high level of golf for the seasoned low handicapper or beginner. Playing from the Blue Tees on either course is a real challenge. Both courses have NCGA "Family Friendly" Tee Markers moved far forward for rookies of all ages and kids. Blue Rock has one of very best Kids On Course programs in the North Bay. In 2016 the cost is 40 for the entire summer, weekly lessons, junior tournaments with several full rounds of golf at no cost or as low as 5, with parent. Golf Course Maintenance is superb, actually spectacular. Greens on boths courses roll fast and true. Stay below the hole or pay the price of a tough putt. Big hint - aim your golf ball toward the marker in the center of the fairway. Customer service is much improved compared to just a few months ago. Very nice friendly staff in the Pro Shop. They do a great job with tournaments large and small at very competitive pricing, including food service. The small restaurant has an excellent breakfast menu, really great hamburgers and sandwiches, with a wide range of soft drinks, ice tea and ice cold beer. Golfers can call in F&B orders from the course for Ready To Go at the turn goodies. Be alert the squirrels are waiting to steal food on #11 & 14, or anywhere else they might be hanging out. The Rock has some very smart squirrels. If you live in the area, annual passes are a great deal, including participating in many club tournaments each year. Senior weekday only passes are available too. My family loves playing golf in Vallejo at The Rock! Your's will too!
