Moving on with Old Man River Old man river

This place is on Virginia's northern neck near Tappahannock. It's fairly secluded and not a big crowd. I understand they rent trailers for overnight stays. I went here on a cloudy, rainy day so that may be part of the reason of small crowds. The beach is on brackish water and the water was warm but not like the Gulf of Mexico. The store didn't have much in it. The fees are 8.00 per adult and 4.00 for children.

Family oriented campground. Profanity and nuisance due to drunkenness discouraged Nice beach and camping. Bath house and restroom open 24/7. Camping spots have electricity. Well maintained. Small concession stand. Prices very reasonable. Shelters and swingsets. Have nice shady areas. Wonderful staff!

Very family friendly environment. I bring my children all the time even though it's a hour drive. Lots of shade, grills, swings, sand, and water isn't too deep. Also has very close bathrooms and showers.

Decent place with a very friendly Campground Hostess. Bathrooms and showers are NOT air conditioned, which is really bad when its 95 F outside. At least they are clean and cleaned regularly.
