This is one of the most beautiful stations I have been to in the country. I was lucky enough to be able to visit during Christmas time. The architecture is incredible, and the station is actually way larger than it looks. There are plenty of spots to eat, shop, and explore. I hope you are able to take a trip out of this station. It is gorgeous during the holidays!

Pleasantly surprised by the baggage check service provided before my trip. Gave me a place to stow luggage while in the city. Excellent service to boot!

There's value in having a great Amtrak station right in the heart of the city. Very easy and convenient to get to. Cabs go there; as do buses; there's even a metro station right in the basement. Many lines take you up into Maryland and Pennsylvania; or south into Virginia and the Carolinas. Cheap, easy travel. Plenty of eateries within the building. Even a mini-mall. History, architecture, convenience, food and shopping all combine into awesome building!

My daughter and I recently travelled on Amtrak from Orlando to Grand Forks. On the second leg of our trip we both got very ill after eating the dinner provided in the dining car. On the 3rd and final leg of our trip, we paid to upgrade to a room with a shower, we found out that evening that the shower did not work, and were unable to use it at all. Upon returning home, I called Amtrak to request a refund for the room ( just the difference charged for a shower room) and was refused. I also mentioned that we both got sick from their food and was met with a hollow apology with no offer of compensation. Truly horrible customer service, very disappointed.
