All the TMH ladies made my time in DC unique in many more ways that I could've ever think of. However, coming in with the disposition to share, talk and meet new people is a must to have a great experience. Sharing spaces with 70? girls is a fun adventure. Also, having breakfast and dinner served everyday is AWESOME!! The location is unbelievable good, too!!

Lived here for 4 months in 2019. Safe, comfortable, and beautiful place to live for young women and students starting out in DC. Close to metro, the Hill, and downtown. Wonderful staff from top to bottom! Highly recommend for female students looking for a short term place.
I stayed at TMH three different times, over a couple summers and for almost a whole year. I truly can't say enough good things about this place. As a young woman, you will NOT find another place on the Hill or off that is so close to good things, so safe (24 hour desk security), provides you with built in community, and loves on you. You get meals and your own room and access to the greatest places in the world just steps away. Some of my longest running friendships started with women I met in the dining room at TMH, a nervous college junior working at the Library of Congress. Even if community and safety aren't your priority, the pricing structure and location far out weigh any other option in the city. Be here, be home, no matter how far away home is.
TMH is a home away from home. Two wonderful meals a day, and rooms cleaned once a week. The location couldn't be better on Capitol Hill - and right by the Senate buildings and Union Station. This is a true find for women new to the city or working on their grad or undergrad degree. Would highly, highly recommend. Beautiful historic building as well. Peace of mind for parents dropping their child off in DC - and always, a wonderful way to meet talented people in the city. This is an awesome place - can't recommend enough!
I lived in Thompson-Markward Hall for about three months while transitioning from an internship to full-time employment. I thoroughly enjoyed my time spent living there. The kind and welcoming staff, convenient and safe location, and wonderful tenants all made my experience at TMH one that I will never forget.
