Since it was the only larger boat available to accommodate our group, we ended up renting the 'discount pontoon'. Michelle was up front that the boat, while mechanically just fine, needed cosmetic updates. (Has we been expecting something else this review would have gone differently!) She was great to work with and answered all our questions. The pick up and drop off went smoothly and we had no issues with the boat while we were out. This is certainly a no-frills outfitter, but they also don't hold themselves to be, and we had an enjoyable rental experience.

Mark's is great. I have had boats on the area lakes for fifteen years, and have had my ups and downs with various dealers/marinas. We just bought a new Avalon pontoon from Mark, and both the boat and the buying experience was ideal. He put us in the right boat with the right deal, and I don't recall ever laughing so much during a big purchase. We've also had repair work done at Mark's on an old boat that was on-time and well-done. I see that some reviewers have said they were treated rudely at Mark's. Ok, Mark isn't some smooth-talking popped-collar yacht club kid who couldn't get a Wall Street job, and wound up selling boats. Rather, my take on Mark is that he's kind of a cross between the Skipper on Gilligan's Island and Robert Shaw in Jaws, which is to say that he's a good-hearted, down-to-earth, gregarious guy who has been in the boat biz a long time, and really knows his stuff. (And he's caught a lot of very big fish.) I definitely recommend Mark's.

I was the area and was interested in buying a pontoon. I decided to come here based on it was in the area and first thing that popped up on google. What a mistake! I was approaching the shop and asked if the owner was around so that I could purchase a pontoon. They said he was not and that he was busy at the time, even though I saw him sitting on his phone. I shrugged it and decided to walk around back to check the place out. I came upon a group of workers and decided to talk to them. Ironically, they told me the exact opposite of what I expected to hear. They were telling me how I should “never buy or trust this place” and that there are way better options nearby. They said they treat the boats and lifts so poorly and told me that I should never trust them with such a big decision or my own personal boat. They kept telling me how the owner and other people selling the boats are constantly low balling people with prices and quality of boats. I just wanted to let everyone know before they make the mistake I almost did.
