We purchased jazz shoes for our son here about six months ago. He performs in youth theater productions, and we wanted him to have comfortable stage shoes that would also work well with costumes. We had no idea what we were doing, and Inspiration Dance Wear came highly recommended from two separate families we talked to. We stopped 30 minutes before closing on a Sunday evening and were not only welcomed but also brought right in for a full fitting. We were SO impressed with how attentive the owner was. She was very picky about ensuring a proper fit and had him bend his feet all over and stand and stretch his foot in many directions to be sure the shoes fit well. He wasn't keen on wearing the jazz shoes without socks, which I don't think is the norm. Thankfully, she took this into account when fitting him, which was great as we wouldn't have thought to ask him whether he wanted to wear socks. He has worn his jazz shoes for rehearsals/performances for three shows since we purchased them, and they still look great and fit well. The local convenience of having his shoes immediately in our hands was GREAT, and we were very happy with the price, which was on par with Amazon...except with an expert who knew what she was doing for the fitting. We were SO wildly impressed and grateful, and when he needs his next pair, there is no question that we'll be going right to Inspiration Dance Wear to purchase them. Inspiration Dance Wear Is an excellent place to purchase anything dance, skate, gymnastics. We started coming here when my daughter took dance at webster recreation. She has long narrow feet and is hard to fit. Miss Brenda had narrow shoes in stock and they fit perfectly. She made sure she had room to grow. We ended up getting the cutest dance outfits for her and some great bags. My daughter is not dancing anymore she has moved on to gymnastics. Of course she had to go right to see Miss Brenda all her friends want to know where we get our Leo’s. They are different and fit perfectly. Miss Brenda makes sure we leave the store with everything we need and a perfect fit. Now if I could get her to open a store in Henrietta I would be the happiest mom alive. thank you Brenda for always taking the time to make sure we are good. You are the best!!!
Miss Brenda, the owner and a former dance teacher, is the most helpful person that I know in the dance business. We have never regretted a purchase, from shoes to leotards, from tights to hair accessories. The previous reviewer said she spent over 200 on two pairs of shoes for her daughter. The most expensive dance shoes I have purchased at Inspiration Dance Wear cost around 50. We have gone to this store for all our dance, gymnastic, and musical theatre needs since 2015, and will come back for sure. One time we ran in 10 minutes before closing, and Miss Brenda stayed an extra 30 minutes to ensure a proper fit for my hard to fit daughter's feet. Miss Brenda is well versed in the individual preferences of the studio owners in the area. We have never had to return a single item, everything has always been approved by the studio owner. As a side note, if it took me 20 minutes to squeeze my daughter into her dance shoes, I would not let her dance in them for fear of injury. I can't recommend this store enough, nor the owner. I'm already dreading the day the store will change hands, or - heaven forbid - close down.
Brenda was super nice and helped us to identify the right shoes and leotard for my daughter who is a beginner but a bit older than most beginner ballet dancers. She took the time to try her in several types of shoes before settling on one that best fit her foot type and experience level. We will definitely go back again when it is time for something new!
Excellent service! My daughter has a particularly narrow foot and owner took time to fit her with the perfect shoes. Was impressed with the stock as well. Expected we would have to order the shoes, but we were able to leave the store with the right shoes!
I have been taking my daughter here for the past 4 years for tap, ballet and jazz shoes. Brenda is super nice and the shoes always fit perfectly! She also has a great selection of leotards that you can't find at other stores. This is the only place we go for dance shoes and accessories!
Brenda’s background in dance instruction affords her much knowledge in selecting and sizing a dancer properly. I tell all my dance friends about her shop. It’s so much better to try on a shoe in person than purchasing online.
We were encouraged to go here. I took my 2 daughters to get fitted. She fitted them we walked out with shoes. My youngest daughter kept saying these shoes are tight. We were fitted late September early October, by Halloween my daughter has pretty much totally outgrown her shoes. My husband and I struggle weekly to put her shoes on. We have to start 20 minutes before class starts to get them on and when she comes home you can see the imprint on the back of her ankles. The owner was very clear once they danced in them once there could be no refunds. Now it’s February and my oldest is growing out of her shoes as well. We DO NOT have the finances to purchase not one but 2 new pair of shoes after spending over 200 for the first 2 pair. I WOULD NOT RECOMMEND HERE UNLESS YOU HAVE MONEY TO WASTE.
