Joshua Welle is a U.S. Navy veteran, entrepreneur and Democratic candidate for New Jersey’s Fourth Congressional District. Born and raised in Monmouth County, NJ Welle graduated from Wall High School in 1997 and was then appointed to the U.S. Naval Academy in Annapolis, MD. After graduating from the Naval Academy in 2002, he served in Operation Enduring Freedom and Operation Iraqi Freedom as well as four deployments in Africa, Asia and Europe. Following his 12 years of active-duty service, Welle transitioned to the U.S. Navy Reserve, attended the Harvard Kennedy School of Government and founded a technology startup focused on developing mobile software for the Department of Defense and other large organizations. Eager to continue serving his country, Welle announced his candidacy to represent his hometown, New Jersey’s Fourth District, in U.S. Congress. By leveraging his military, foreign service and private sector experience, Welle is focused on strengthening national security, bolstering economic growth and continuing efforts to improve the American healthcare system.
