I love this class! Yaya greets you with a warm smile! Sister Ndella creates such a nurturing learning environment! Dancers (all ages and colors of the ) are so happy to be there and absolutely welcoming and friendly! And the DRUMMERS...Even if you just show up to listen to the live drums! You’ll want to visit again! Bring an open mind, a smile and contribute your good energy! We are BLESSED to have this in Long Beach!

Coming from someone who has danced West African dance for over a decade in a myriad of settings, Ndella's class is by far a friendly environment where beginners, intermediates and advanced dancers can come and enjoy live drumming with West African dance instruction at a community center. The technique and steps are explained, the steps are practiced, and then the steps are accompanied by live drum ensemble across the floor. No need to be intimidated, everyone is at their level and expertise and the environment is welcoming. At the end of class, Ndella always welcomes new guests and we all get a chance to share the news of the community and thank everyone for coming. If you are ever in Long Beach, do stop in, everyone is welcome. :)

This is such a fun, unique dance class. Wonderful instructor, musicians, and environment. The live drums and real time instruction makes for a vibrant and memorable experience. Very welcoming, 10/10 will be back again.

She was very rude . She did not introduce herself esp when you have new faces . No sense of musicality or counts . She made me uncomfortable. She did not explain her counts or instructions well . As someone who has dance experience for over 18 yrs her class structure can be better .
