Called ahead of time to see if they had a copy of the Warhammer 40K Space Marine codex in stock. They said they had one. Told them I was 2 hours away and asked if they could hold it for me. They took my name and said they would hold it for me. Got to the store to pick up the book and the guy behind the counter told me that their “inventory system was notorious for being wrong” and they didn’t actually have the book. So when I called, rather than walk the six feet from the counter to the shelf to check if they had the book, they just looked at their “notoriously inaccurate” inventory system and told me they had it. Glad I wasted 4 hours of my day (2 hours there, and 2 hours home) to not get what I was told they had in stock and would be held for me.
