Exquisite store full of beautiful fabrics. Any design project this is the first place I go!

RUDE and inconsiderate staff! I was uncomfortable with the lack of wearing masks (on the part of the employees, not customers.) When I told them I wasn’t comfortable inside their store, one of the ladies got very nasty and argumentative instead of just politely putting on a mask until I left. Clearly zero concern for their customers!

Two years ago the ladies at Final Yard helped me choose fabric for a Southwood sofa and two Kittenger wing chairs I had recently inherited. These pieces were of excellent quality and buying new furniture of questionable quality was not a smart option. The upholstery was exceptionally well done and the gentleman who did the work had a background understanding of what was appropriate to the style of 18th century furniture. This is not to say that one should be slavish to authenticity, but if trying to create a bridge between the traditional and the contemporary, it is often good to predicate the contemporary upon what is classic. Classic is just so, for a reason, and has stood the test of time. I had already decided to rely upon the classic lines of the sofa and chairs but to update the fabric by using a modern velveteen. When grasped by a sudden whim to add a contrast trim, I asked the ladies at Final Yard and the upholsterer what they thought. They were honest and said that they believed that the integrity of the classic lines of the sofa and chairs should not be compromised in that way and that the natural flow between the classic and the contemporay could be better maintained without it. At their own expense, they all kept me from doing something I later would have regretted. To other prospective clients of the Final Yard, I ask this question. Do you want fast service at the expense of quality? The fact is, quality takes time. If you don't care, then you can certainly take your custom any number of places where service is quick and perhaps little else. As they say, quality isn't expensive. Rather, it is priceless.
