We have enjoyed our stay at this state park between the hiking trails and swimming pool. The kids enjoyed riding around the campground on their bikes, with the on-site playground as one of their favorite spot. The distance between various RV/Camper sites is well spaced out, giving us some level of privacy. We were a little thrown off by the map and the marked trail that suppose to lead us to the river trail. Shortly after following the \River Trail\ sign, we reached a sign that says \State Park Boundary. No Trespassing Beyond This Point.\ After a few more minutes going the opposite direction, we ended up at the office and the site of the \boiling spring\. As we were at the tail end of summer, the swimming pool was a refreshing place to spend our afternoon after hiking and exploring the trails. The pool and bathroom appeared clean and well-kept and there were several lifeguards on duty.

Generally Speaking

Boiling Springs is a misnomer, the one lone spring is not boiling or even warm, it just appears to be “boiling” as the water flows up through the sand. The park, as with other OK state parks seems to be falling into disrepair. RV parking was adequate, not much shade, but most sites were pull through and full hookup was available. Bathrooms were operational, but in dire need of remodeling. Wildlife was abundant, deer, raccoons, owls and birds of all kinds were seen daily. The park has a lot of potential, it could really use some clean up and landscaping. Hiking trails were mowed, but rough. The cabins and group camp seems to have been abandoned, the cabins don’t appear to have had any maintenance in years. Overall, we enjoyed our stay, but having been there once we have no reason to return.

Beautiful trails that are longer than most state park trails. It’s absolutely beautiful, but other than the gorgeous trees and forest, there’s not much to see. The trails are easy. I definitely recommend. Just be sure to bring bug spray and check for ticks after you leave, especially on your dog. We brought my dog and later found 5 ticks on him. It’s very green and a true beauty. Well maintained too !

Many great facilities, trails, and kept areas obvious hard work and care from a dedicated staff. Great opportunity for hiking, photography, camping etc.

Great place! Trails are not that demanding, but several to choose from. For us the highlight is the seven bridges trail (now known as the Boy Scout trail), with a gem at the end being a massive burr oak I believe (massive is an understatement) Wildlife is tremendous; deer everywhere. Watched a porcupine eating while sitting upright using its front paws to eat with. Fawns in May -June are adorable. Nice facilities, quiet, great stars, good play ground and pool. Only one draw back, that being stickers/ sand burs. Little piece of serenity for those that are willing to seek it. Easy day trip to Alabaster Caverns; well worth it
