Interviewed here for an instructor position, Took the full tour of the school, beautiful well kept school, nice and polite students. I got a genuine feeling from most of the staff but their were a few times It seemed as if I was almost being duped into something I shouldn’t be doing, staff was whispering and laughing behind me during the tour ( seemed pretty rude to me during an interview, makes it seem as though they will talk about you like that working there as well) , pay is very low for a diesel position and much less to transfer your knowledge to the youth of tomorrow. I ended up saying thanks but no thanks. 55-60k a year just doesn’t cut it. I could have dealt with the two faced co workers, it was the low pay that was the ultimate decision maker for me. Just my interpretation of it all.

First off I want to Thank Wyotech for having me out and letting me tour the campus and talk to students. As a former grad ‘95’, I was highly disappointed when they started going down the same path as some of the corporate take your money and run schools. But since the latest change over, I have been keeping an eye on them and have seen Wyotech returning back to that same school I graduated from that had integrity. During my visit I talked to students at random, in which I snuck off to talk with students that I felt weren’t the ones that would be picked for a commercial. I did not talk to any students with a negative attitude, everyone I visited was happy to be there, loved their instructors and was clear on what they wanted for their future. I have toured other schools where some students would literally tell me how they felt that like they were being scammed. To sum it up, I have been in this field for a long time, including owning a successful shop for many years. I would not hesitate to send any student of mine that was serious about getting into the field to Wyotech. I liked what I saw and especially liked the rigor, professionalism and the way students were never standing around!
Pretty good school honestly, really nice staff and teachers that helped me learn alot of stuff I didn't understand in highschool definitely recommend. This is speaking for the diesel side I really haven't spoke to many of the auto or specialty teachers
Great place to learn automation and diesel and more
