If you want to be a safe diver, I highly recommend 5 Star Divers for your dive training. I've dove with people who got "certified" at one day resort courses and they don't know what they are doing and are dangerous to themselves and others. If you live in the El Paso area and plan on going on a trip to go diving, do yourself a favor and get proper training at 5 Star before you go. As far as some of the reviewers who said they weren't treated well, expect the professionals at 5 Star to tell you the truth and not what you want to hear to make a sale.

I took classes and was certified through Five Star, have purchased equipment from them and have been on numerous dive trips they organized and I've had nothing but positive experiences. They place importance on providing what is needed for safe and enjoyable dive experiences!
Absolutely LOVE this place and all people that work there. Everyone is always very friendly and very helpful. I moved to El Paso from Florida and found 5 Star by chance one day. They took me right in and have treated me like family ever since. I have moved back to Florida but continue to advance my training with them, Wayne is the best instructor I have had. The Tec 40,45 & 50 courses were challenging and Wayne was always available whether via email, phone or in person to answer questions I had before the practicals began. Penny is a master of organizing world class diving trips and I haven't had one complaint about traveling around the world with them!
Very knowledgeable and professional! Took the time to explain what equipment I needed to start with, what I could wait on, and the classes were great! Highly recommend 5 Star Divers in El Paso!!
Wayne and Pennie are great instructors! I was certified at 5 Star Divers and it was an all around great experience.

Horrible experience, owner had a horrible attitude and when asked about equipment and advanced certification he looked at me up and down like if I could afford what I was asking for. If you need your equipment serviced or need new ones go online, stay away from this place! *Update* Owner's response was to say he was the owner and question my integrity, how about trying to contact me and see what was the specific situation? Is customer service not a priority for your business? Way to go "Buddy", let's try Sir or Ma'am next time. This is what you get when you visit this shop, stay away. If in doubt of my integrity, I have 3 other gentlemen who where there on this day who can verify how I was treated.
Wow Price Check!! Just moved to El Paso from Houston and been diving for over 32 years and this is the most expensive place I had gone to get a refill. My tank needed an inspection, o-rings and refill. Total around Must be I’m in the middle of the desert and no place to dive. Will be finding a new place to do my shopping
