The people appear sketchy, but nice enough. One dude who works there appeared to be stoned, and couldn't count our change, and had to go get help. Our shuttle driver had a full beer next to him as he drove us back, sitting on top of a cooler....Tubes were of good quality, never leaked. Went back a second time, nice woman at the counter, stoner was there and didn't appear as stoned. Stoner drove the shuttle back, again still appearing soberish. Better tubes this time too...I'll probably use them again, if I ever make it back out here.
We stayed at Abbott's June 2013 and had a blast! If you're looking for a fancy schmancy place this is NOT the place for you. In my opinion, this place was perfect for the atmosphere. It has everything you need. It's RIGHT on the river, the horseshoe at your access! (3, 3 1/2 float) with the option to continue on to the rio for another 4 to 5 hours) We did both different days. The price to stay is most reasonable, best price we found! Convenience store & Daisy Duke's bar around the corner and on site tube rental. We rented both cabins and condo C. It was a couple's weekend. We couldn't have been more happy with hanging outside both of the cabins after floating all day, as it was the perfect area. It had the 2 patios and a picnic table with bbq pit. We stayed out to the early morning with our good music playing, drinking and bbqing. The cabins do not have restrooms inside but the restrooms are about a few yards away. Although we could use the condo's. Myrna the owner is super sweet and will gladly answer any questions you have. The guy that helped us from time to time (her helper) seemed a lil out there but took care of us. He's the guy who picks you up at the end of your river trip too. As for condo C- the fridge door didn't close completely and the oven or coffee maker didn't really work to it's potential. No biggie, wasn't anything major we bbq'd outside. Gonna be honest, not sure you wanna take little kids/babies to this place. The whole atmosphere just didn't give me the kid friendly vibe, no playground, no yard etc. It's just the perfect spot for deadset people ready to get on the river and drink some beer and relax. All in all, PERFECT SPOT FOR YOU AND YOUR FRIENDS! We are definitely going back!
