I had a horrible and bizarre experience with this Avis location today. I had a car rented until 8 pm on Monday. On Monday, we called this Avis location multiple times between the hours of 6pm and 8pm but nobody ever picked up the phone. We then went to the location on Monday at 8pm but the airport had already closed because of the current winter storm and the doors to the car rental area were closed. The next day, Tuesday, we returned to the airport at 12.05 pm and the doors were still closed; there were no employees there. We continued to make calls throughout the day on Tuesday, even though the airport was officially closed, to see if an employee could confirm that they were open so we could return the vehicle. On Wednesday, we continued to call with no luck - the airport, where the car rental desk is located, was still officially closed. On Thursday morning, I call the location again with no luck. However, I then decide to drive over and see if they're open. An employee by the name of Kyler tells me that he's going to charge us for Tuesday and Wednesday despite the location being physically closed. We try to explain to him that the doors to the car rental area were closed, we were physically unable to get to the drop off box. He claims that they were open. I then proceed to show him the picture of when I came and it clearly shows the empty airport and the closed doors. He says there's nothing he can do but charge us for the days that Avis was closed. He admits, as the manager, that this is horrible customer service but doesn't do anything about the situation. LONG STORY, SHORT: AVOID THIS AVIS LOCATION AT ALL COSTS. GO WITH ANY OF THE OTHER AVAILABLE COMPANIES. A COUPLE OF EXTRA BUCKS IS WORTH AVOIDING THE HEADACHE AND HORRIBLE CUSTOMER SERVICE FROM THIS AVIS LOCATION AND KYLER.

I called my local Avis to see if I could reserve a vehicle and have it direct billed to Geico. Unfortunately, no one picked up the phone. I then called the reservation number and spoke to someone who said they could help set it up but then proceeded to ask for my wizard number only to find out they would charge me instead of direct billing Geico. They transferred me again and got me in touch with someone who could setup the direct bill to Geico. I then went to my local Avis to pickup the vehicle only to be told that \We don't do insurance rentals.\ I then told the employee Kyler that I had already set it up over the phone with the reservation specialist and have my confirmation number. He again said \We don't do insurance rentals.\ I then said I need the car what do you need to make it work? He said he would call his boss and left to prepare the vehicle. Meanwhile, 40 minutes passed by while he was preparing the vehicle. He then returns and says it is possible and begins the process of renting me the vehicle. Later upon inspection of the vehicle, a Toyota Carolla, the service engine soon message is on the dashboard. At this point I didn't want to deal with Kyler anymore. I decide to return the vehicle early and take it back and Kyler is there again. I gave him the keys and mileage of the vehicle and he proceeds to charge my credit card for the rental instead of direct billing Geico. At this point I am running late and need to get home to prepare for a meeting, so I leave the Avis store. I am beyond disgusted with the service that I was provided. I will never rent a vehicle from the Abilene location again. I started renting from Avis because I hated the service that I received from Enterprise but if this is the type of service I can expect from Avis in the future I will move on to another car rental service. Not to mention the fact that you take points away from paying customers if they don't rent or use them within a period of time.
Very professional and friendly ppl and nice vehicles to choose from wish yall had more trucks available.
