This company was recommended by my boss and he was right, it's totally worth it! My mom and I are brand new to kayaking and these guys made it so easy to get out on the water and gave us a fun, flawless experience. We were blessed with a beautiful day which also helped. Our guides, Tessa and Aaron were awesome! Giving us tips and encouragement, and also narrating our trip with history of the Mississippi and the local channel. I recommend this trip to anyone of any age and experience level but definitely encourage beginners to take this guided tour! Thanks guys!!!!!

I can't even begin to explain how fantastic it has been working with everyone from Above the Falls! They were incredibly helpful in making the reservation and helping our group of high school students make our plan! The equipment was well cared for, clean, and easy to use! The guides were quite knowledgeable about kayaking, the river and the city! We had an incredible time on our four-hour "Working the Local Channels" tour and would highly recommend this adventure to anyone!

We took the Local Channel tour up and down the Mississippi. It was a great time! 2.5 hours was the right amount of time to be in a kayak. Our guide, Danielle, was knowledgeable and fun. She gave us a great recommendation for pizza at Young Joni's! All around awesome time!

I did kayaking in the Mississippi on my second day of visit to Minneapolis with a bunch of strangers in charge of Bob two weeks ago and everything was AMAZING even though I was the only one who joined the tour alone. Bob made everything so smooth that you just have to enjoy the ride. His crew was also kind and friendly. He was so nice that he even gave me all the information on things to do in my first day, such as renting a bike and all the museums stuff. He spent his precious 20 minutes on non work related conversation. Also, the opening the dock was awesome itself that you don't want to miss it if you visit Minneapolis. The best workout and the real fun! I strongly recommend this 4 hour trip to see the view and meet wonderful people!

We had an absolute blast on the 4 hour trip down to the Falls with Mick as our guide. He was knowledgable, interesting, easy to talk to and had answers to all my questions! We saw sides of Minneapolis we were never even aware of, and going through the locks was so neat. Highly recommend this tour to anyone who is thinking about it. The four hours flew by!

My wife & I came to Minneapolis for an anniversary get away. We have not kayaked much. We did the 4 hour tour down to the falls. It was a great experience & we highly recommend it! Bob was a good teacher & tour guide, fun to talk to. It was some work for us against the wind. It was very rewarding to make it to the falls, have a drink & eat fish tacos at Sea Salt after. This was very memorable & a great way to spend the day! I recommend a change of clothes in a plastic bag, water. We aren't skilled kayakers & we were soaked by the time we got there. Again, it was totally worth it. A great adventure and nice change of pace on our vacation in the city.
