My daughter purchased her horse shortly before we moved him to Soft Landing and I think he thought he died and went to heaven. He has a large stall, generous amounts of quality hay, top rated feed supplements and huge pastures for turnout. The indoor arena and the tranquility of the surroundings are just bonuses that have made for a happy horse and rider.

I have enjoyed leasing a horse and riding at SLS for 6-1/2 years. I have been leasing my boy Stan for over 5 years and I adore him. The property is lovely and the horses are happy! Pastures are large, stalls are very clean, and the horses are given quality feed and abundant hay. The large indoor arena is an indispensable amenity affording the ability to ride year round. The outdoor ring overlooks the beautiful pastures. There is a great group of people who board, lease and take lessons at SLS. Lyndi Prettyman-Caruso, a hunter/jumper judge and the current trainer is phenomenal. Her training method is natural, gentle and patient aimed at fostering a trusting and confident attitude in building the relationship between horse and rider. Soft Landing Stables is my Happy Place - it is the mainstay of what keeps my life sane!
Soft Landing Stables is one of the best stables in the greater DC area. I have extensive experience with stables both as a veterinarian and a military spouse. Over the last 25 years we have moved our mare all over the country, in and out of many boarding facilities and SLS is one of the top facilities. Our mare is on her second tour at SLS. The horse care is excellent and compassionate, the facility is nicely maintained, And the turnout is excellent. The owner also works really hard to keep boarding fees reasonable and to maintain a peaceful, welcoming environment.
I've been at this barn for close to 10 years. My horse is very happy and well taken care of. The picturesque pastures have nice green grass surrounded by solid fencing and lined with tall trees. I enjoy the proximity to Arlington!
My daughter moved her horse here recently and can’t say enough about how much she loves it. She has ridden at several other barns further outside. Dc and says she can’t believe we didn’t find this gem of a facility sooner. She is learning way more with this trainer,who has helped her advance her skills and knowledge. Even though COVID 19 has pretty much blown out the 2020 show season,she plans to start showing later this year or early next and having a blast. thank you Soft Landing Stables.
