I applied for a position and Karen reached out about a week later. She asked me to take the assessment tests and was very pushy so I completed it the same day. She then scheduled a zoom interview and told me more about the position (HR Coordinator) and also mentioned that they were hiring a HR Recruiter for their office to which I said I was interested in. Fast forward to 2 weeks later and I haven’t heard anything so I called and left a voicemail. Instead of calling back I received a text and was told that the HR Coordinator role was not ready to start yet even though the last time we spoke it was set to start ASAP. I was also told that the HR Recruiter role was “put on hold”. A week later I get an email from a new recruiter (Valerie) trying to set me up with a different temp role without addressing the roles previously discussed then Karen emails me saying that the HR Recruiter role had been filled and “the decision was not easy!”. I was never kept in the loop with anything and she was never transparent with the process. She blamed the unprofessional culture on having changes to their team but never addressed why she lied and said the role was on hold while she was actually sourcing candidates. I’m convinced I never had a chance considering that the whole team has zero diversity and they filled the role for their office with a white woman. What a complete waste of time.
