THIS SCHOOL IS TERRIBLE!! The sad part about this is that the teachers and the majority of the staff is white. My thing is that we had a rally for diversity but things just got worse. They got on you for all the small things. For example, if you have no belt your in ISS missing class until someone is available to bring you one. They are very irresponsible. If you want your kids succeed, your better off home schooling them. Amistad has a high college dropout, but they are supposed to be the number 1 school ACADEMICALLY!!! As a junior, I don’t know what holds for my future college because they honestly don’t know what they are doing. I hope everyone on the staff read this because fun fact I can’t express my opinion in the school itself so might as well make it public.

This school deserves no stars, but they force you to do this to post. Parents please reconsider letting your child attend this school. It is not worth your child’s mental and emotional state or learning ability. This should be your very last resort. Your child can excel in any public school in the city/state; they can still attend college, trade school or military. Amistad New Haven does not prepare your child for life after school. There ratings of college accomplishments are FALSE. More than half of their student body cannot get past their first semester of college; they end up dropping out. If you notice these children have a new teacher every other month or year. No professional teacher stays there. But they have your child’s “best interest”. The way they pick at kids is very disgusting. They try make these kids be perfect and pick at the shoes they wear, the type of khakis they have on. These children get detention or ISS (whatever they want to call it) for the most ignorant things. The guidance counselor does not guide children into making the right the decision. Keep them out of you family home business as much as possible. They are disrespectful, biased and do not know what it means to be a guidance counselor.

This school isn't worth anyone's time. The staff micromanages you for little things like having your shirt untucked or being late even though many people have transportation issues. If anything public schools are way better than this school and not everyone gets into college.

This school is not great because we don’t be trusted as students and don’t get right of freedom to speak and no type fun events to attend to build relationships as a school. Which ain’t right do not recommend parents too put kids in this school
