Honestly we loved this small hidden restaurant. The manager and servers were amazing, warm, and funny. They were very welcoming to my large, loud, and energetic family and friends . The food was great, and I am very picky. I have never had Afghan food and am now very open to try something new again.

Conveniently located just a few minutes walk from the Omni hotel, my wife and I felt like trying Afghan food for the first time. The staff were super kind and accommodating to our ignorance of the food and made recommendations for both of us to share. The taste was absolutely amazing! My wife and I highly recommend giving it a try!

Portions are nice, price is competitive, and the food is delicious! There is so much flavor and the kabob is not overcooked at all. Everything down to the rice is seasoned and cooked wonderfully. I ordered delivery from them and my only issue was something that actually was the fault of the delivery service. Even so, when I called the owner answered and was very patient and generous even though the mistake was not his fault. I won’t be in D.C long enough to order again this trip, but I look forward to eating from this restaurant again in the future. Edit: AND I was so excited that the menu is quite authentic.

Decent place for Afghan food. I very much enjoyed the Bulanee and Mantoo appetizers. We ordered the lamb pulao and the beef kabob entrees. Unfortunately, the staff forgot that we had ordered the pulao and only brought out the kabob dish. We ended up cancelling the pulao dish because it had been 1 hour since we ordered and we had to head out. The beef kabob dish was pretty good. Glad to know that all the meat served here is Halal (although ironic that they unfortunately also serve alcohol here as well). All in all, it was pretty good food but under average service. Probably wouldn't return here again.

I was in the area on sunday and we decide to go to Afghan grill for dinner. First of all they are very over priced for the amount of food you get. We order the mantu, bologna, and the meat samosas. The mantu barely had any meat in it all I tasted was onions. The bologna seemed like it was fry in cold oil cause it was soaked in oil. The somosas was burned and also absolutely no meat in it. They took a half a bologna and sliced up in little pieces. My husband ordered the mix combo the lamb wasnt cooked the shrimp tasted like it was boil. Overall the food was horrible. I wouldn't recommend this place. I'm an Afghan and I know this place wasnt owned by an afghan, cause Afghan wouldn't serve food like that. On top of all that they serve alcohol. If I would have know I wouldn't have gone there and spend my money.
