Its an exciting museum for Black history of the Fauquier County. The staff was super, friendly & knowledgeable. I am happy this place exist and donations helps to keep this museum history available to all in search of their family tree. My Herder's(French Herder) & the Butler's(Eliza Bulter) family roots was in The Plains & Warrenton.

Excellent historical narrative . I never knew the history was so rich in Fauquier Co!

The Afro-American Historic Association of Fauquier County shows off images and artifacts from local people and places in the area. The exhibits stretch from Egypt to the election of President Obama. To me, the most powerful of the exhibit items is the Slave Cage outside of the museum from the 1850s, which is haunting.
