The experience was nice. An interesting walk around. The staff at the entrance was helpful. The facility was very clean. My children had an awesome experience. I just wish that the gift shop had a bigger variety of items to buy.
Great art exhibits! Thought provoking and educational for my kids
The exhibit is the perfect mix of art, literature and documents. As a descendant of a slave owned by the Mcconnell lineage, it was humbling to see the documents, letters and ledgers. Followed by an uplifting journey from reconstruction to renaissance. The artwork is very inspirational, cleansing the palate. The exhibit on Freeman Cemetery was exceptional. The video kiosks weren't just narrations but actual interviews from local people who knew it as \hallowed ground\. I am very grateful for that opportunity and look forward to returning with my family.
It was a nice place and there were some cool artifacts. However, I expected more and wanted to see more. There was a lack of statues, artwork by non local artists, and history of African American culture, etc. It was nice but I think more is needed.
