Pay attention to all of the one star reviews. They are true and not fanatic parents. Most of the teachers are tired, angry, and burnt out. The high turn over rate of TA's is due to the negative environment. I've heard lead teachers call their students \brats\. If you don't have the patience don't work with children.The happy beautiful class rooms are a nice facade. Don't send your children here.

Afton is a wonderful school. My daughter loves it and can't wait to go back. Ms. Lori and her staff are warm, caring, and professional. The classrooms are beautifully designed and the walking trails gorgeous. My daughter has made new friends and learned so much every day she has been there. She loves it there and if my kid is happy then I am happy!
My son is having such a great time at their summer camp. He came home after the first week singing the camping song and talking about playing inside the tents. He loves the teachers and starts asking if he can go to summer camp at 6am!!
This school moved to a Carrboro location in 2015. Since the move, they have changed in many ways, so reviews written before then are no longer accurate. The facility is larger and one they now own instead of rent. They did a lot of work to remodel the building, including putting in hardwood floors. The 3-5 year old classroom is large, open and a wonderful space for play and exploration. They have high quality materials and plenty of them. The toddler space is a much smaller room and the two groups spend less time interacting. The owner and her daughter are the main teachers. In the last year, there have been many different assistant teachers to come and go. They have worked hard to get the center licensed as a child care center, which they accomplished but this means some of the wonderful things we loved about the school no longer happen. At the old location, the children went on daily nature hikes into the woods, they candled eggs & hatched baby chicks and parents were hands on in the classroom. every month. We selected this school because it was a half day preschool. It is now a full day five day child care center. If you are looking for a child care center, it is probably one of the nicest ones. We found it no longer met our needs. Visit and talk to the owner before you make a final decision. There are a lot of rules parents must follow. The owner has a good heart but some parents find working with her spur of the moment mandates challenging.
so my son was a student in this school and they can't tell me face to face that my son can't keep going there cause they feel my son is too dangerous to be around other kids but they Email me Saturday morning telling me that they going to Mail me my son stuff thru the Mail This is not a place to put Your Child be Aware I will be placing a complain with the Orange County and BBB about this cause I feel that my son was discriminated against one time my son got sick and they came to tell my wife a week after he got sick if you can't handle a 4 year old you should not be in day care business find another business to get into
