This place is very special. I made a reservation, left work early to pick it up. When I got there they would not rent to me because I was not renting with a credit card and my bill had a late charge two months ago. Now their website clearly states you cannot have a past due balance. I thought I did my homework so I would not have any problems. The deposit was no problem, but denying my rental for such nonsense was a waste of my time. Normally, most companies would leave it up to the managers discretion. But he, the manager said it would not pass the audit. Either update your website or change your policy. So my advice is renter be ware if you do not have a credit card. They will treat you like your less than worthy to rent from them. Enterprise gave me no problems but the rate was higher.

Employees work here are friendly and try to provide good customer service but their system / process is very slow or they need more training to process each rental as it took more than an hour and half to pick the car for the customers with reservation and all the paperwork handy. Not sure why it takes that looooong. Even returning the car is same; I couldn’t just drop the key and walk off they asked me to stay in line and after 30 min plus waiting I left my keys at the table and left. Hope they just charge what the correct amount. If you go there at the peak time (for both renting or returning) prepare to wait hour or more. They should definitely improve the customer experience (get in and out faster). If that means asking customer to bring more paperwork or fill more info online before hand then they should do it.
Gentleman was great and professional however just 1 person for the day. It was very busy. There was a long wait. It was almost over 1hr to get a rental. However , service was 5 stars A. That's the only reason I'll go back.
After reading the reviews I was a little leery about renting but we did rent here and we had no issues. The will charge 200.00 deposit but that is a industry standard in car rentals. The rate was really good and no issues when we returned the car.
Always a problem when you try to rent a car here. Here is the info they do a poor job of communicating, i will communicate it now, Your Welcome Alamo. --Be sure to have a major credit card with the estimated total of the rental a 200 deposit. --Don't have a credit card, sure use your debt card - but make sure you walk in there with a paper copy of a utility somehow proving you live here that your DRIVERS LICENSE doesn't prove already. I even called this location when they decided they wanted to pick up the phone, to see what I needed to be prepared before hand and was rudely told none of this. I just made my way to Avis. No deposit, can use a debit card. THEY got my business. Peace out Alamo/National - you'll never see another from me!
I wish I saw the reviews before I went there. A straight 'NO' and 0 Star for your Service. Never go to this place! These people got some serious problems. He didn't accept my credit card insurance. He neither gave me the carrier insurance. He wanted my personal liability to cover the rental!
The customer service here was better than ever. I’ve been going here for years but this last experience was the best. Ashley although Young was very friendly to all the customers she smiled and greeted everyone that came in even while with another customer. Kareem was also a great help. The car I rented was worth every dollar. Clean, great gas mileage and very affordable. Thanks for the 5 star service!
Please avoid this place at all cost. Rented a van returned it the next day, called them for my receipt, and a lady told me she will send it. After 3 days I got a call from them asking me how long I’m going to keep the van? Wow! Kidding me! I told them I returned it 3 days ago. They put me on hold, recheck and they found it. To my surprise, a lady who claim she is a manager has the guts to tell me their records shows I just returned the van. She came to conclusion that, there is nothing she can do, so she will charge my card for those days. I pointed it to her I even called for my receipts, she then told me it shows that I called but no one at the office claim I talked to them. Please be very careful when renting from this place. To me they’re not serious doing their work. The bottom line is that they did charge my credit card like she said even up to now still didn’t sent me the receipt. Again if possible avoid this place.
