This labour department is causing people to go with, at best, no money, and at worst, no place to live or food to eat. The only line where UI issues can be dealt with is constantly busy round the clock, and rather than putting you on hold, they just tell you to call back at a later time and hang up. I swear there are less than a handful of people answering phones here. I finally got through 1 TIME but my partner has called hundreds, if not thousands, of times, messaged the department on Twitter, has not been contacted, and is not receiving benefits due to a hold on her account that would take 1 10 minute phone call to fix. This is hands down the worst NY government department and it is both shameful and pathetic the pain and suffering it puts its citizens through.

The New York State Department of Unemployment should be ashamed of itself. The system that they have in place is very inefficient, although I’m sure it is intentionally done, so that they don’t have to give money to those who worked and paid state taxes. We all really need to evaluate why we pay taxes; it doesn’t get anything in return. The lady (Sherry) left me a voicemail with the wrong extension to reach her back at. How do I know this? Because I used the extension, and the automated system told me that code does not exist. I can’t wait to move out of New York; the GREEDIEST, most CORRUPT star there is in this country.

Was trying to call them yesterday to backdate my unemployment benefits can’t get a hold of people here it’s impossible to get a good representative of here I even tried calling at 15 minutes after they open the operator said all representative are too busy to assist other customers please call back or WE’RE SORRY WE ARE EXPERIENCING A HIGH VOLUME OF CALLS and they hang up on you REALLY your too busy in 15 minutes if you opening your doors. Give me a break very unprofessional over there Coumo has to fix this unorganized unemployment center. They just want to keep the money for themself little selfish. Called the New York state department of labor last Tuesday 14 times no answer, Wednesday 10 times no answer Thursday 3 times no answer. What’s with them and not answering to New Yorkers, your New York State department of labor for a reason help people with there needs. NOT SO HARD

What’s even the point? All this number leads to is a labyrinth of automated phone messages. Completely unorganized and incompetent.

I’ve been eligible for unemployment for two months now. I have been unable to connect with the unemployment office the other telephone service even though I received messaging saying I cannot certify online I need to talk to someone in the office. But how do you talk to someone in the office if they don’t answer the phone or if they’re always too busy and to call back at another time? In the meantime I’m strapped for cash. Do I need to drive out to the capital and go to the office myself. Sounds like a plan
