Do not recommend. They have not taken any steps to help residents during the COVID 19 pandemic. I was forced to move out in March 2020, then I signed my lease early for the Fall 2020 semester (they push you to sign because “It gets full fast”) and I haven’t even moved in because of COVID and all of my classes are online. They have offered no support and just want my money. I have tried to reason with them and have gotten nowhere. It makes no sense to pay for my room when I’m not even there. It is extremely frustrating how they have not offered any kind of relief during these hard times. If you want to live somewhere with decent management, DO NOT LIVE AT CASAS.

SHADY. They were incompetent and maintenance left me in the winter WITHOUT HEAT for over a month. When I addressed them about it after several failed attempts to fix, they blamed it on me. They are also dishonest financially, they sent me 2 in the mail when they knew they owed everyone who moved out for COVID a refund (obviously not 2). I hope they are investigated for further financial incompliances, maybe even TAX FRAUD.

Don't do it. It's very overpriced and everything is constantly breaking (the windows, the toilet, etc.) If you are even considering studying abroad, don't live here. It's the only on campus housing that won't let you out of your lease if you end up taking a semester abroad, even if you didn't know you were going abroad when you started living in Casas. Also, in my building there have been outside doors that are broken. One didn't lock for a full semester so just anyone could walk in. Another door has been broken for the year and a half I've lived here. It's a fire exit that gets jammed about once or twice a week so that you can't get in or out thought the door, regardless of if you have a key. (Which I'm pretty sure is a fire hazard) Just live somewhere else where they don't care more about profit than student well being

We've had a terrible experience with this dorm. First they raised the monthly payments on us when move-in time came despite the fact that we signed up very early. Then they lowered the cost for new move-ins, but we were stuck with the rent that was 30 more than they now offer. Now my daughter has been accepted to transfer to another school, but Casas del Rio will not release us from our contract. They say we are furthermore responsible for finding a new renter, who they must approve, and we must pay a fee! The possibility of finding someone new is slim, since the year is half over and the rents of other rooms are lower, with an added incentive of a 299 first month. As a single mother, I find it very hard to pay for my daughter's college as it is, and now I will have to pay for a dorm room she can't live in for the next 5 months. Thanks for the big heart, Casas del Rio! Also, it is very hard to actually reach someone who has the ability to help. Minerva Valenzuela can only be reached via email, is slow to respond, and refuses to budge on the lease, repeating the same line over and over. If I knew 6 months ago what I know now, there is NO way I would have put my daughter in this dorm.
