Impossible to get a hold of the people who actually work in the building. The only way to go in is to set an appointment, but there is no number to call to do it.

First of all, it says “open“ but hasn’t been open since the pandemic. You’re able to make an appointment to get a Social Security card if you’ve never been issued one before, if you’re just needing a replacement they won’t make you an appointment. This was not posted anywhere online I had to drive across town to figure it out. I called the number on the front door of the Social Security office... I was then told to mail my application and my drivers license (not a copy, MY ACTUAL DRIVER’S LICENSE) to a particular address and that it would take about a month. When I asked “what if I get pulled over or need my driver’s license at some point this month? Or what if it gets lost in the mail?” And her response was “I don’t have an answer for you” I’m sick of this system.

Worst experience trying to get my son's first social security card. First, it gets lost in the mail and I have to resubmit documents (they didn't mention if it's been within 45 days they could have resent another one). Now, they reject the same documents I originally sent stating his passport isn't valid, which it is. This has been a nightmare going on 5 months now!
